PRIVACY POLICY

Dirt Empire, by Rafferty Software LLC

Effective 7 August 2026 · Last updated 10 August 2026

The short version. Dirt Empire does not collect any personal information, has no user accounts, contains no advertising and no analytics, and sends nothing to Rafferty Software LLC unless you choose to use the in-game FEEDBACK button. Your game progress is stored on your own device. If you sign in to Google Play Games, each world you turn cloud backup on for - plus your foreman's look, name and lifetime stats - is also saved in your own Google account, so you can pick up where you left off on a new phone.

1. Who this covers

This policy applies to the Dirt Empire Android application ("the game") published by Rafferty Software LLC ("we", "us"). It does not cover any other app, site or service.

2. What we collect

Nothing, unless you send it to us yourself. We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, location, contacts, photos, advertising ID, or any other identifier. The game contains no advertising SDK, no analytics SDK, and no crash-reporting SDK. Nothing you do in the game is transmitted to us automatically, and we could not identify an individual player if we wanted to.

The one exception is the in-game FEEDBACK button (Menu → Feedback), which sends whatever message you type there to the developer's inbox, along with the app version and platform so a bug report can be reproduced. That message is emailed and not stored in any database; nothing else about your device, save, or play session is attached to it. Don't include anything you don't want emailed - the field is a plain text box, not an anonymous report.

3. What is stored on your device

The game saves your progress locally so you can pick it up again. That save holds only gameplay values:

This data never leaves your device unless you turn cloud backup on for a world, as described below. Uninstalling the game deletes everything stored locally.

4. Google Play Games and Google user data (optional)

Cloud backup is per world and off by default for a world already on your device - you switch it on from the Worlds screen. A brand-new world backs up automatically once you're signed in, and a fresh install checks your Play Games account for worlds you backed up from another device and offers to bring them back.

When a world's cloud backup is on, the game stores a copy of the save described above as a Play Games "saved game" in your own Google account - this is what lets a new phone pick up that world. Separately, whether or not any world is backed up, signing in also syncs a small device-independent profile record: your foreman's look and name, your lifetime stats (total dirt earned, taps, layers cleared and similar totals across every world), and which one-time purchases you've unlocked - so a new device you sign in on already knows what you've earned. None of this is personal information; it's the same kind of gameplay values described in the section above, just not tied to one save slot.

Scope used. This feature uses Google Play Games Services and the https://www.googleapis.com/auth/drive.appdata scope. That scope grants access only to a hidden application-data folder in your own Google Drive that belongs to this app. Dirt Empire cannot see, list, open, modify or delete any other file in your Google Drive, and no other application can read what Dirt Empire writes there. We use it for one purpose and one only: saving and restoring your game progress.

Dirt Empire's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We do not transfer this data to anyone, do not use it for advertising, and do not allow humans to read it — we never receive it in the first place, as it moves only between your device and your own Google account.

This feature is optional and the game is fully playable without it. If you are not signed in, if you decline, or if Play Games is unavailable on your device, the game simply saves locally and everything else works normally.

Play Games is operated by Google, which handles your sign-in and your Play Games player profile under its own terms. We never see your Google account, your email address or your player ID. See Google's Privacy Policy.

5. Purchases

Optional in-app purchases are processed entirely by Google Play Billing. Your payment details are handled by Google and are never seen by the game or by us. The game receives only the identifier of the item purchased and a purchase token, which it uses to unlock the item and to restore it if you reinstall. We do not receive your name, billing address or card details.

6. Notifications

If you allow notifications, the game schedules reminders on your device — for example when the offline drill has filled up or a daily bonus is ready. These are generated locally by the app itself. There is no push service, no message ever leaves or enters your device, and we cannot send you anything. You can turn notifications off at any time in your device settings, and the game carries on as normal.

7. Permissions and why they exist

PermissionWhy
Internet / network statePlay Games saved games, Google Play Billing, and sending a message if you tap FEEDBACK. The gameplay itself is offline.
NotificationsThe local reminders described above. Optional.
Run at startupRe-arms those local reminders after the device reboots.
VibrateHaptic feedback on taps and key events. You can turn this off in Settings.

8. Sharing and selling

We have no data to share or sell, and we do not do either. We do not use your data for advertising or profiling, because we do not have any. Nothing is transferred to third parties by us. Google's own handling of Play Games and Play Billing is governed by Google's privacy policy, linked above.

9. Deleting your data

Because we hold no data about you, there is nothing for us to delete on our side and no request you need to send us.

10. Children

Dirt Empire is suitable for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, children included, because the game collects no personal information at all.

11. Changes to this policy

If the game ever changes in a way that affects this policy, we will update this page and change the "Last updated" date above. Material changes will also be noted in the app's release notes on Google Play.

12. Contact

Questions about this policy can go to [email protected].
